Reviews
I awaited delivery of this book with great anticipation - the promise of beautiful, full-size reproductions. Unfortunately, the results are deeply disappointing. To begin with, the images are printed on a matte paper more appropriate for reproducing drawings or water colors than photographic work. Worse, most images are too dark and lacking in appropriate contrast. For example, the image of "Sun Rays - Paula, Berlin, 1939" is muddied, and dark, completely the opposite of the sunlit room meant to be conveyed. (Contrast with the well rendered image on page 19 of the book titled "Alfred Stieglitz - Aperture Masters of Photography - Number Six") In other images, what should be dark but readable areas are rendered completely black. Extremely disappointing.
